Karolína Záková has been playing cello since the age of five. She was born in Prague on September 25, 1999. She comes from a musical family and all her six siblings play musical instruments.
Karolína proved her remarkable talent in several national competitions. The 3rd place in the International Heran Competition and the honorary diplomas from the final round of the 6th Dotzauer International Cello Competition in Dresden are worth to mention. Karolína won the 1st prizes at the Pro Bohemia competition, at the Conservatory Competition, at the international Cello Competition for the Gustav Mahler Prize, and the 3rd prize in the international competition Talents for Europe. She became also the absolute winner of the J. Vychytil‘s competition.
Since 2015 she has studied at the Prague Conservatory (Miroslav Petráš). She also took part in international courses in Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Hungary.
She participated in a series of masterclasses with world-renowned cellists (A. Weilerstein, R. Pidoux, E. Rovner).
She played as a soloist with the PK Chamber Orchestra, the Prague Chamber Philharmonic, Hradec Králové Philharmonic and Janáek’s Philharmonic.
